Out standing INIT ITS system in Vancouver
INIT was honoured to receive the Canadian Urban Transportation Association’s (CUTA) Corporate Recognition Award. The award was given to INIT during CUTA’s Annual Meeting held in Ottawa, Ontario. It acknowledged the exceptional system performance of INIT’s intelligent transportation technology on TransLink’s (Metro Vancouver’s regional transportation authority) buses and in their control centre during the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, B.C. The buses were operated by Coast Mountain Bus Company (CMBC) a wholly-owned subsidiary of TransLink.
INIT Wins Gold for Outstanding System Performance during Winter Olympics
INIT set the bar high and took home the gold during the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver last month. In 2006, the South Coast British Columbia Transportation Authority (TransLink) partnered with INIT to provide an advanced fleet management system, as well as on-board computers on over 1,500 of their vehicles in preparation for the big event. Having the INIT system in place made their job of managing and transporting the crowds much easier.
